6 Reasons to Stay in Sundance
Sundance is located at the bottom of beautiful Mount Timpanogos and is known for its beautiful ski resort and gorgeous mountain views. When you’re looking for your next getaway we think you should choose Sundance, so we’ve put together a list of the top six reasons why you should come stay with us at Blue Light Resort.
1) Greatest Snow on Earth
Look, we make a big claim but we can back it up. Utah has the greatest snow on earth. We’re so confident in this claim we even put it on our license plates. If skiing or snowboarding is your thing, you have to come stay with us in Sundance and check out the snow for yourself. We can guarantee that you will be planning your next trip back once you realize that the snow anywhere else just doesn’t compete.
2) Heber Valley Railroad
The Heber Valley Railroad is an experience you won’t ever forget. Take this train up the mountain and choose from daily themes, such as the chocolate lovers train, the masquerade-themed train, rock and roll train, princess themes, music lovers events, murder mystery events, and even the Easter Bunny train in the spring, or the Polar Express in the winter.
3) Winter Activities
In addition to having the greatest snow to fulfill your skiing and snowboarding cravings, there are a plethora of other winter activities for you and the family. There is cross country skiing and snowshoeing, tubing at an awesome tubing hill (Soldier's Hollow), ice skating, and snowmobiling. A super unique opportunity to Sundance is the ability to visit the Midway Ice Castles during the holidays, an experience you won’t forget.
4) Summer Activities
Sundance is beautiful in the summer as well. Another thing Utah is known for is the amazing hikes that come along with having such glorious mountains all over. Many notable hikes are right around Sundance. For a quick, easy, family-friendly hike you can try Bridal Veil Falls (1.3 miles, 30 minutes), for a bit more advanced hike try Steward Falls (3 miles / 2 hours), and if you want to make a day of it, take on the 15 mile Timpooneke Trail and hike to the summit of Mt. Timpanogos (7+ hours). In addition to great hiking trails, Sundance has opportunities for mountain biking, horseback riding, ziplining, golfing, river rafting, boating, and other water sports.
5) Beautiful Family-Friendly Resorts

Our favorites include The Eagle’s Nest,a beautiful private lodge that comes with all the amenities you could want and sleeps 14, and The Chalet, another beautiful cabin with a sports court, hot tub, fireplace, and also sleeps 14.
